It’s easy to be inspired when working with a brand you’ve been a fan of for many years. Such was the case when we shot this commercial photography project for Dippin’ Dots and their sister company Doc Popcorn. Dippin’ Dots revolutionized the ice cream world by crafting colorful and fun products based on a flash freezing process. Their ice cream dots make kids and kids-alike smile every day, around the world. And now, they bring the same joy to the world with Doc Popcorn.

We first embarked on location scouting, touring warehouse-sized freezers and the lab where they produce their ice cream. Even though it was an industrial setting, we immediately recognized the potential of commercial photography within the facility. The Dippin’ Dots marketing team wanted a modern look for their commercial portraits for use in both web and print applications. Since many of their products are colorful, vibrant, and multi-toned, we used bright color to reinforce their brand. And to tie in their innovative freezing process, we used liquid nitrogen to create the fog on the floor….

Track Happy Studios is the creative space for Rian Dawson, drummer for the band All Time Low. At Track Happy, Rian helps fellow musicians hone, develop, and record their sound in a space that fosters creativity.

For this commercial photography project, we captured not only the atmosphere but also the energy of the space. We also showcased some of the equipment, knowing the importance of telling a specific story to a specific audience. The details, while they should not overwhelm the viewer, are nonetheless important. The resulting photographs convey particulars with emotion and style….

The countryside of western Kentucky offers many breathtaking vistas. Tucked away in its landscape is this Hunting Lodge, which we were able to capture during a calming, summer sunset.

The property is often used as a corporate retreat, but we were hired to capture the ambiance of the lodge for promotional materials for a charity auction. Shooting on location within a stunning panorama is made all that much more sweet when doing it for a good cause….
