ALASKA FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY / BRAD RANKIN STUDIO
This fashion photography shoot is top contender for the most elaborate and well planned shoots we have done recently. The shoot itself took place just outside Anchorage, Alaska, at Beluga Point. It's a very easily accessible bluff right off the highway, less than an hour from the city. That should give you a decent idea of how breathtakingly beautiful the landscape is in the final American frontier. Needless to say, we shot landscape photography on our visit, although fashion was our primary focus.
The concept for the photos was fairly simple going in. I wanted to create movement that complimented the clothing, jewelry, and accessories. We used the wind to create that movement, along with lightweight sheer fabrics. This all sounds much easier than it ended up being. In fact it was so windy that it took three people to keep my 8' softbox steady!
The project was done as a promotional piece for both our work as a photographer, as well as for the modelling agency DEP Model Management. I had a fantastic team to work with while I was there! Credits for the shoot are posted below, thanks for reading! View more fashion photography from our studio here.
