EMPTY BOWLS PROJECT WITH ARTIST MICHAEL TERRA

We couldn’t have been more excited about the opportunity to work with the internationally recognized “Empty Bowls” Project. The event is aimed at fighting hunger and is personalized by art organizations on a community level. The regional chapter is graciously hosted by Paducah, Ky based poet & ceramicist Michael Terra, owner of Lowertown’s Terra Cottage Ceramics.

Locally The Empty Bowls Project Paducah helps fund the 70,000 meals that the Paducah Community Kitchen serves each year. On the day of the event guests choose a handmade bowl painted by community members to use that day. They use this bowl to choose from a variety of local food vendors to fill their plates. After the event guests keep their bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world.

Across time and many cultures art has been one of the greatest tools in bringing people together. We are so happy to have been able to contribute. Our portrait & documentary photography was used regionally throughout Western Kentucky in print, on the web, and on social media.

This years Empty Bowls Project will be hosted on February 23rd, 2019 starting at 11:00 A.M. at the Paducah Convention & Expo Center. To Learn more call 270.908.0090 or email mudonthewall@gmail.com
